A New Jersey Standard residential lease agreement is a fixed-term rental contract commonly for a 1-year period for use between a landlord and tenant. A landlord will usually require a prospective tenant to complete a rental application before authorizing a lease to ensure they meet the financial requirements of the monthly rent.
