A New Hampshire motor vehicle bill of sale is an official document recording the ownership transfer of a vehicle. It must be signed by the seller and can be used by the buyer to register the vehicle with the Division of Motor Vehicles (DMV).

In accordance with NH law ( RSA 261:148 (III) ), a vehicle bill of sale must include:

  1. Make;
  2. Model;
  3. Vehicle identification number;
  4. Model year;
  5. Year of manufacture;
  6. Type of body; and
  7. Number (#) of cylinders.
  8. Name and address of purchaser; and
  9. Signature and address of seller.

Signing Requirements  – According to law, the seller is only required to sign. Although, it is recommended both the buyer and seller authorize the document.


Odometer Disclosure bbin电竞官网官方永久ment (Form TDMV 12) – A vehicle that is less than sixteen thousand (16,000) pounds or ten (10) years of age must have this form attached to its bill of sale.
